This was a great song by Bare Naked Ladies....and it describes how long we've been living in Texas. It is hard for me to think of living here as it still feels like we are on vacation. We have experienced our second snow event and are working through the kinks of finding a place for all of our stuff.....that is, all of the stuff that is not in a storage unit. We are also working on internet and computer issues. I suppose that is just part of the moving process. Everyone has asked "how do you like it so far?" I really don't know. We haven't had an opportunity to really experience anything Texas due to the weather (except the weather and the wind) and haven't been able to do the things one does when one moves...whatever that might be. We did make it out to see about changing our driver's licenses from Alabama to Texas. I wasn't able to get a Texas driver's license at this time because we weren't in my car. Your car has to be registered before you can be a registered driver in the state of Texas. Who knew? We didn't, but now we do. :-) Edward was able to get his driver's license because he told them his car was still in Alabama.....they let him get away with this. I, however, didn't think that was fair that he was allowed to get his license on a technicality.
I will take the car back another day to make it official here but I will not remove my University of Alabama tag off the front of my vehicle. Don't know if that will keep me from getting a tag or not, but hey, if it does, so be it. Right? I will just move quietly between two states and know that I can live and drive in either place.
In previous blogs I've mentioned that the state of Texas is flat. One thing I forgot to mention is that I am taller than most trees!
I'm just sayin',
